Welcome! I'm Kimberly Gorskie Garcia (she/her), a French birthworker, birth doula, and French-trained baby nurse based in Redondo Beach, California.

Born and raised in Lyon, France, my career has always centered around caring for others. Over the past decade, I've worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including the NICU, labor and delivery, postpartum, pediatric neurology, burn units, and emergency care. Those experiences taught me not only the importance of skilled care, but also of compassionate presence and advocacy.

While working on labor and delivery, I realized that what I loved most wasn't simply supporting birth it was building meaningful relationships with families. I wanted the opportunity to provide continuous, personalized support before, during, and after birth, which ultimately led me to become a doula.

After moving to Los Angeles and settling in Redondo Beach, I completed my doula training with Cornerstone and began supporting families throughout the South Bay and greater Los Angeles area.

As the mother of three children, I've experienced birth in different ways including my most recent home birth. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that there is no "right" way to give birth. Whether you're planning a hospital birth, birth center birth, home birth, a vaginal birth, or a cesarean birth, my role is never to tell you what to choose. I'm here to provide evidence-based information, compassionate support, and respectful advocacy so you can make the decisions that feel right for you and your family.

Every birth is unique, and every family deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. My goal is to help you approach your birth with confidence, knowledge, and the reassurance that you don't have to navigate it alone.

I have a deep love of learning, and I'm always continuing my training so I can offer families the very best of what I know. Most recently, I brought the French Newborn Welcome Bath (Bain d'Accueil du Nouveau-né®) to the United States, and I'm proud to be the first certified practitioner to offer this experience here.

I'm also the co-founder of Pílar, a future feminist community center in the South Bay offering childbirth classes, volunteer opportunities, and a home for community. I'm deeply proud to be part of a project that creates a safe space for everyone from activists, to pregnant people, to pre-teens, to elders.

I look forward to continuing to grow and train, and to accompanying families through every step of their journey.
